Jean will give a first hand insight into the role and lifestyle of aid workers. He will be discussing all different issues of the life as an aid worker, with all the challenges, prospects and opportunities in the field.

 

Jean S. Renouf  has worked as a humanitarian aid-worker in North Korea, Iraq, D.R. Congo, and Cuba, where he held various management positions mainly during emergency interventions. He also worked as a researcher in Afghanistan and Haiti, focusing on the use of private security companies. Additionally, Jean traveled in many other countries or regions such as Russia, China, Central Africa, Central America, Middle-East, etc He is speaks 6 languages and is a research consultant working on humanitarian and security issues, and a teacher and PHD candidate at the LSE. He has published several articles and presented several lectures related to security and post-conflicts studies.
